Since last December (2023) at the latest, I have not been able to provide new contributions due to personal stress. In the meantime, the stress has eased and I am now ready to post more content again.
For some time now, I have been keen to provide a description and history of the village of Agios Vasilios (which is the reason why our large municipality was named after this place (see The Villages)).
However, there is a dramatic reason to postpone this a little longer. Most of you already know about the massive rockfall on 13 March 2024 at the entrance to the Kotsifou Gorge (coming from Kanevos), which has been blocking the short access road from the north to Sellia and Rodakino for two months now, forcing many in the region to take a long diversion via Kourtaliotis and which has also caused a lot of local political uproar.
n short time I will describe this event in more detail in terms of its significance and impact on the region.
