Guided hikes in the immediate vicinity of Plakias
There are many beautiful ways to walk here. Paths that only gradually become known after many years of presence. In the very immediate vicinity alone, there are paths that are not necessarily accessible to the normal one, two or three week guest willing to walk. As there are:
– Over the olive groves from Plakias to Sellia and up to its Kambos.
– From Sellia over to Finikias Monastery (today Church and Folk Museum Sellia, including library) and then down to Souda Bay.
– Mill tour at the Kotsifou stream (to visit four former mills).
– Walk up to about 18 km on level ground along an irrigation ditch and always hainge a new perspective of the sea and our landscape in view. The path leads from Mirthios passing Mariou and around Lefkogia almost to Shinaria Bay.

Guided car excursions into the interior of the continent
The inner island holds many treasures. It takes years to discover them all. In the relatively close vicinity there is Lambi (which is part of our municipality of Agios Vasilios) with a.o. Spili and Agia Galini. Our neighboring municipality is the Amari (valley) at the foot of western Psiloritis. Among other things, there is one of the few reservoirs in Crete worth seeing and quite a few traditional monasteries. The exploration of the Amari cannot be done in one day, but it is impressive to drfive it in parts starting in Plakias .
Another part of exploring the inner island takes us to the west, e.g. via Kali Sikia, Argiropoli, Asi Gonia, Miriokefala, Kalikratis, Imbros, Chora Sfakia, Aradena.
